Did you know?

1. If I change to Fenie Energía, could I be left without electricity?

No, a change of reseller does not mean that your supply will be cut off at any time. This is merely an administrative change. All that will change is that following the next reading of your meter, the next invoice will be from Fenie Energía rather than your previous reseller.

2. Is invoicing monthly or bimonthly?

At Fenie Energía we invoice you once we have received the consumption information from the distribution company for your zone, which reads your meter. This means that the frequency with which you receive the invoice will coincide with Fenie Energía receiving the meter readings.

According to Royal Decree 1110/2007, the plan is for all supplies of under 15 kW to be remotely managed by 31/12/2018, and invoicing will therefore be monthly.

Until this date arrives, and for contracted tariffs of less than 15 kW:

  • – If you have had a remotely managed meter fitted and it is in fact integrated within the network, you will receive monthly invoices (both circumstances must apply simultaneously).
  • – Otherwise, you will most likely be invoiced every two months.

For contracted supplies above 15 kW, invoicing is monthly.

3. Do I have to phone my former reseller to cancel the contract?

No, as activation of the contract with Fenie Energía involves simultaneous cancellation with your previous reseller.

4. Do I have to be with Fenie Energía for a minimum time period?

No contract with Fenie Energía is subject to lock-in commitments or penalties of any kind if you don’t fulfil a time period established in the contract. Our policy is to be transparent in our processes, with the aim of winning the loyalty of our customers through personalised and approachable treatment. This inevitably means that we do not tie our customers down, allowing them freely to arrange a contract to try us out, without any kind of restriction.

5. If I have any queries or complaints, who can I contact?

The first line of response is your Energy Agent (the person you contacted to arrange the contract), a professional installation agent who will provide you with personalised service, resolve all your queries and offer you advice as to the best option so as to save on your electricity charges. There is also a freephone service and the email address clientes@fenieenergia.es where you can likewise send your queries.

6. If I am left without electricity at any time, what should I do?

The first thing to do would be to perform the reset procedure, which comprises switching off all the thermal-magnetic breakers or ‘PIA’ automatic switches, waiting for a couple of minutes and then switching them on (up) from left to right, waiting for a few seconds between each breaker. If you still have no supply, the next step would be to check whether there are any other supply connections affected (if it is at night, look out of the window to see if the lights are on along the street or in neighbouring homes), or go out and ask other neighbours. In the case of a widespread blackout, you could opt to phone the freephone number of the regional Distributor (stated on our invoices), or phone our 24-hour service for us to handle the matter. If you take the second option, we will call you back to let you know how soon normal service is expected to be re-established. If you are the only person affected, it is very likely to be an individual fault, in which case you should contact a private electrician (your regional energy agent holds this status, and can offer you preferential service those brackets to find the source of the problem.

7. How will I receive my invoices?

When you arrange the contract, you can decide how they should be sent out: Traditionally (ordinary post) or electronic (by email). Currently, for tariffs below 10 kW we have a product offering a 3% discount on the variable term compared with the basic price if you arrange your contract electronically and receive your invoices by email. We would in any event advise you to arrange electronic invoicing, as it is faster than being sent an invoice in the post, and helps to reduce paper consumption.

8. Do I have to pay any compensation to my former resell?

The payment of any type of penalty/compensation to your outgoing reseller will depend on the contract you previously signed with them, and if there is any type of clause in this regard. The process of switching reseller to Fenie Energía only applies to the change in the customer’s electricity supply, and does not depend on whether there is any such contingency, or if you have any other type of contracted service that they might continue invoicing you for, although you have switched to our company.

9. How do I consult my invoices?

The invoices will be sent out periodically in accordance with the invoicing cycle explained above, by the means chosen by the customer when arranging the contract (postal or electronic). Customers furthermore have the option of consulting their invoices on our website, www.fenieenergia.es, once they have registered to receive a password.

10. Does Fenie Energía provide green energy?

Fenie Energía is not only our electricity reseller, but also a representative with the OMIE and CNMC of producers of photovoltaic energy, which represents a substantial proportion of the renewable energy in our energy mix. It is therefore possible to award green certificates to the points of supply of customers who so request.

11. What do I have to do to arrange a contract with Fenie Energía?

12. Fenie Energía resells electricity throughout Spain.

Yes, since November 2015 we have been reselling energy throughout the country, both on the mainland and in Ceuta, Melilla, the Balearic Islands and Canaries.

13. Can I send you my meter reading?

Meter readings are sole responsibility of the Distribution Company for the zone where the point of supplies located (Royal Decree 1718/2012). If the meter is not accessible (inside a house, inaccessible room, locked, offence, access to communal areas of the building, etc., or if there is any other barrier or circumstance, whether temporary or permanent, preventing the readings from being taken), then customers themselves must provide the readings to the zonal Distribution Company periodically, in order to allow the reseller (ourselves) to be informed of the correct consumption to be invoiced.

15. How can I change the contractual party, reduce the power setting or modify the account number?

You can use the customer area (clientes.fenieenergia.es) to perform all procedures such as a change of bank account, contact email address, invoice postal address and other aspects. To change the name of the contractual party, or for any procedure involving any change to the installation, you will need to contact the Energy Agent for your zone, to be given the form to be completed and signed.

16. Can I choose how to pay my invoices?

For the moment, the payment of invoices at Fenie Energía is only available by direct debit, with customers being required to provide a bank account number when they arrange the contract.

17. What does it cost to register a new supply?

Registration costs for a new supply connection (and likewise if you decide to increase the power setting those brackets are established in Royal Decree 1048/2013, and therefore do not depend on the reseller contracted. In principle, there are 4 items: Extension Fees (Amount = €17.374714 x nº kW contracted), Access Fees (Amount = €19.7033137 x nº kW contracted), Hook-up Fees (flat rate of €9.04) and the Distributor Deposit (this amount varies, depending on the customer’s expected annual consumption). These are the amounts for low voltage installations, and would be increased by the corresponding VAT.

18. Can I change reseller and also request a change in my installation at the same time?

Yes. If you inform your zonal Energy Agent when you arrange the contract, once they have performed a check to confirm that the parameters of your current Electrical Installation Certificate allow the change to be made. The change required will already be included in the contract that you sign.

19. How do I contract the right power setting for me? Or what would the right power setting be?

The optimal power to contract is closely linked to the electrical apparatus included within the installation, the customer’s consumption habits, along with the time of year as another influence. You should therefore not hesitate to ask for advice from your local Energy Agent, who will provide guidance and recommend the best option in your case.

20. Is there any additional service that can be contracted?

21. How does the contractual process work?

The contractual process is very simple. You can arrange a supply contract electronically, as a swift and secure or process. All you need is an email address and a mobile phone number where we will send a code with which to sign the contract.
